We took the boat out of the water this past weekend. Unfortunately, I didn't take a photo of it but it was pretty dirty. I'm going to call a guy to clean it so that should fix that. I still don't have a place to store it but I need to call someone about that too.
Week 3 of p90x is in the books and I start the recovery week tomorrow, which is more cardio than lifting. I have begun to see a difference in myself, I've lost most of the gut I've had this summer. Happy days.

Here is what I did on today's vacation day (I'm running short for the year). The top photo is the before shot showing the hole that we've had in front of the lakehouse since we bought it. It's usually full of 4-5 foot weeds but currently isn't too bad. On the right you see the dump truck full of shale that was dropped off yesterday. The goal was to connect a drainage pipe in the bottom left of the pic to the area of the other culverts and install a new culvert under our driveway to replace the one that ended where the stick next to the shale pile is.

Some miscellaneous photos. The top one is from Saturday's game. We lost again but scored a lot more points. Henry scored a td on this play.

Henry at his swim lesson today.
Day 3
No, this blog isn't going to turn into a daily commentary on p90x but I will continue to discuss what's going on with it because the blog is called Life and this is pretty much it right now. Random thoughts from today:
No, this blog isn't going to turn into a daily commentary on p90x but I will continue to discuss what's going on with it because the blog is called Life and this is pretty much it right now. Random thoughts from today:
- Not the best workout this morning, it was painful. I did arms and shoulders. The ab workout was brutal, I may do it again tonight because I didn't give 100 percent.
- I can't believe I struggle to eat 1 fat a day now, at least finding one on the approved list. It's still challenging to get 7 proteins in a day, I really just don't feel like eating most of the time.
- I don't really feel all that great most of the time. I suspect its because I'm on a high protein, low carb diet and my body is taking some time to adjust.
- 7 vitamins every morning does weird things to you, let alone trying to get them all down.
- Tomorrow is yoga, which doesn't sound bad. But I've been told its hard.
I also get my annual physical tomorrow. Hopefully the doctor thinks this all is a good idea.

Day 2
Woke up this morning a little sore in the legs. Not too bad but I can still feel it tonight. The workout this morning was cardio and it was shorter but not easy. I sweated as much as I did yesterday if not more. Eating was a bit easier today but I ate a late lunch and walked around downtown a bit to loosen up and burn some calories. I actually got hungry tonight and had my first craving for an oreo cookie. It was also tough cutting up the boy's sausage tonight, I wanted to take a bite but didn't. Tomorrow is back and arms so that will be fun.

First Day
The workout this morning was hard. I got up at 6:15 a.m. and drank some water before starting around 6:30. I did core which was a lot of stretches, jumping, ab, etc. I don't think I've ever sweated more in my life, at least since I played football. But it good, I kept up pretty well and could do everything except for one thing which involved my bad knee.
For breakfast, I had a whole wheat bagel with a piece of ham and a glass of V8. Thank god for the new spicy low sodium stuff. Snack was a smoothie with protein powder, yogurt, fruit and skim milk. Lunch was tuna salad, snack was almonds and dinner salmon, salad and a pepper. I missed one protein and one vege but it was my first day and I felt sick because I ate so much. I guess that's the good part of this, you'll get to eat probably more than you used to but different stuff. I'm going to struggle with the vege part of this.
Henry's football game was canceled mid game tonight because of lightening. Probably for the best because I'm a bit sore.

Fun weekend, great weather. We hosted my family and Sarah's family at the lake. My dad even came down. It was a little cool to swim on Saturday but we did get Cara out on the tube. Sunday we went to the Wilds and that was fun. Today we came back early because we had to drop Kate off at the airport. Now its time to get ready for p90x; my first day is tomorrow.
I did the p90x pretest today. It went okay, I did 30 pushups which I was surprised at. Pull-ups were terrible, I only did 3. My weight today was 173.8 which is probably the fattest I've ever been. I'm okay with that weight number but not what its composed of: zero muscle and all fat. I hope to weigh about 175 when I've completed the first 90 days but be 2 pant sizes less than the 34 inch waist I wear now. I'll even commit to posting before and after photos on this blog once I'm done. And let me tell you, the before pics are not pretty. I'm really confident in the workout part of all this. It's the eating part that scares me. If I only had to cut bad foods out and eat less I would be fine. It's the eating stuff I don't like and at the quantities that my body needs which will be tough for me. No alcohol for 90 days is a piece of cake, no oreos for 90 days is not.
But I'll get through this and be much better off in the end. I'm excited to get going on p90x but I'm still not sure what I'm having for breakfast tomorrow. Egg whites are not my favorite...
