Jack with his "program" at the Wiggles.
All four of the Wiggles.
Sweaty Murray, the guitar playing Wiggle.
The whole gang.
Sarah said Jack pretty much looked like this photo the entire concert and only danced one time at the end. I'm shocked, he loves to dance to the Wiggles in front of the tv.

Henry batting.
Henry pitching.
The Clysdales before the game. I'm not sure why they were here but its not an every night deal.
In Homer's Landing. Unfortunately, none landed.
Before the game against the Astros.

At the St. Louis City Museum, the craziest/neatest museum I've ever been to. 600,000 sq. feet large, built in an old shoe factory, its Willy Wonka meets Pee Wee Herman like with tunnels, caves, slides, etc. everywhere. The caves were a bit scary for Henry and a little tight for dad but we still had a blast. It is a must see attraction for kids and adults alike if you ever visit StL. Henry and I both crawled through this tunnel and it almost killed me (I dropped my blackberry from 25 feet, it was in 3 pieces and once put back together it still works!).
Here is a slide that Henry and I both went down. What was I thinking?
Different take on the little balls you usually see.
This kinda gives you an idea of the place. The colored tubes in the top left of the photo is a 2 story slide.
More interesting stuff.
This is a view of the caves. I didn't even notice the face until I saw it in the photo. It's dark in these tunnels!
More dark tunnels lit up with my flash.
Lunch at TGIF. Not very authentic and violates everything I believe in when visiting a city (eat at local unique places) but with a hungry almost six year old exceptions have to be made.
Below the arch.
Henry with Thomas Jefferson behind him below the arch. TJ, one of our greatest Presidents and a believer in personal responsibility and rights.
At the top of the arch.
The ballpark from the top of the arch.
At the top of the arch, looking at the Mississippi River.
Inside the pod that takes you to the top of the arch.
Here is the inside of one of the pods that take you to the top of the arch. As you can see, not much room in there. They sat five total people.
Here we are waiting for the "pods" to arrive to take us to the top of the arch.
Here is the view from our room. The hotel was nice, nothing really special, but it was a block from the ballpark.
Back from St. Louis. More photos to come.

Henry and I are headed to St. Louis Wednesday for a business event I have at the Cardinals game. He is very excited about the trip and I am too. Not because its St. Louis in August (it'll be HOT) but because its a great boys trip.
We are staying at the Hilton at the Ballpark and its connected someway to the stadium. I'm sure we'll go up in the arch and there looks to be a couple cool museums downtown. Unfortunately, the best looking one appears to be in the burbs and I'm going to try to avoid renting a car. We'll only be there 24 hours but it'll be fun.

Before and after photos of the kitchen in the lakehouse. We are almost done with it, as you can see the final door needs installed, the walls need stained and the tile needs to be put down. Unfortunately, the stuff we want won't be in until the end of September so I think I'm going to change my focus to the basement.

So the big news that I couldn't share a few weeks ago is now public. Sarah is taking a new job with AT&T. She will be directing their public affairs in Ohio. It's a great gig and she's very excited about working for a Fortune 500 company. I'm excited and proud of her because I think this really fits well with her skillset.
I had to cancel my trip to Atlanta last month because the guy who hired her wanted her to come down the same time to meet. A small price to pay for what looks to be a great opportunity. Who knows where it will take us, I always thought we would live in central Ohio forever but I envision Sarah going places with her new job, places that might take us to new places.

Here are the new granite countertops at the lakehouse, along with the new bottom cabinets. This is just a dry fit photo but is pretty close to what the final product will look like. I figured there was a 20 percent chance it would fit perfectly with the likelihood increasing to 80% with the inch and a quarter play I had with the backsplash. The important part was the lefthand piece, it has to be pretty flush with the cabinet because that's where the oven goes. As you can see, that is fine. All in all, it looks like I did an acceptable job with the template. The front overhang might be a little more on the right side than the left but that's something you would have to pull a tape measure out to really notice.

Planting another maple tree.
