Bowling today. Flash didn't work too well in that large place.

And from Christmas day.

Christmas was stress free this year, according to Sarah. My family came in on Saturday and left Sunday and Sarah's were here until the 26th. Here are some photos...

Here's Jack, my little Republican.
Here is Henry decorating the tree.

Henry doesn't sing a lot but in this shot he looks like he is.

I call this photo "mischief". That's what Henry looks up to.

Here is Jack with a nice smile.

Here is a photo of "Santa" and Henry. What a look on his face.

I'm a little late posting photos but I was having some problems with the camera. Everything is working now, all the photos are uploaded to Kodak Gallery and my camera cartridge has been erased in anticipation of taking a lot of pictures over Christmas.
I've been working at home a lot this week, my phone system blew up at work and there isn't a lot of reason to go in if that's not working. I can pretty much work at home Monday and Fridays but that puts a strain on Sarah having to pick up and drop off the kids.

Tomorrow is Sarah's birthday. We're going to The Refectory, a great restaurant that neither of us has ever been to.

Today I dressed up as Santa for the daycare. Henry didn't know it was me and all the kids were excited. Well, the older kids were but there were some tears in the smaller age classes. I enjoy doing it but that suit gets awfully hot.

A few misc. things.

Henry's class is putting on a Christmas performance today. I'll post some photos and video clips, probably tomorrow because we are going to a few Christmas parties tonight. One of them is at the Governor's Mansion. I think Sarah got us that invite.

We got two tickets to the BCS game in New Orleans. A certain State Rep. came through for us, $175 face is a lot better than the thousand they are going for on ebay.

Jack is starting to talk more and more. He now says Dada and last night said mama for the first time. I think his teeth are bothering him some although he's sleeping pretty well.

Henry and Jack are going to be millionaires!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, maybe not until the year 2060 or so but they'll eventually get there. I have a chart that shows if you invest $50 a month for five years and don't touch it the balance will compound to over a million dollars in 58 years. It shows you starting at age 8 but I figure why wait that long, start at $25 a month right now and see what happens.

I don't know what a million dollars will be worth in 60 years but it'll be better than nothing.

Here is a photo of Henry with Santa that was taken at the Statehouse a few weeks ago. I had to wade through a bunch of photos online before finding it. Not sure why Jack didn't get his taken, I'll have to ask Sarah.

Our first snow of the year was actually our second. We got 4 inches today in Columbus but we experienced the white stuff in New York when we visited for Thanksgiving. Traffic was awful in Columbus but I didn't see anything like the spinning car we almost hit on the way to Pittsford a few weeks ago. It hadn't even started snowing yet but it was pouring and things could have been a whole lot worse than a few shaken nerves.

I'm pretty much set for Christmas. Sarah is tough because her birthday is right before Christmas so I have to remember to seperate the two and make sure she doesn't get cheated. Our trip to New Orleans for the BCS Championship should count for something but I have a feeling it won't.

I paid two kids $10 to shovel my driveway tonight. I would have done it but I was watching both boys. Plus, it was only ten bucks.

Henry had another basketball practice tonight. I'm amazed at how good he is compared to the other kids. Here is Jack and Mrs. Claus.

So Friday we went to Dennison to go on the Polar Express. This is the third year we've gone and Henry really enjoys it. They do a good job, the train travels to Newcomerstown and a lot of people come out and dress up and pretend its the North Pole. Santa comes through the train and gives all the kids a bell. It's a lot of fun. This year we stayed at the Holiday Inn in New Philly, which had a special rate. Saturday morning we drove through Amish country and stopped to get our tree. The past few years we've cut it down ourselves but this year we bought one from their lot, Jack is too small but too heavy to carry out in the fields so maybe we'll renew the tradition next year if he's up to it.

Saturday night the neighbors came over and we watched to see if the Buckeyes would find themselves in the BCS National Championship game. It was a great night and I looked pretty smart for booking airfare and hotel in New Orleans for Sarah and I. Truth be told, I had until midnight to cancel the reservation so I left myself some wiggle room. Problem is, I was counting on us playing WVU because I had tickets if that happened. Now I'll have to scramble for some.

I went to Toys R' Us today and bought the kids presents. Now I understand why my mom used to go overboard. It's fun to buy them stuff and its easy to throw another toy in the cart and think "its just once a year". I'm going to go light on Jack this year though and put the difference into his sharebuilder account. Henry has over $600 in his account from money he's received as gifts and from money we just threw into a bucket for him so I have to make sure Jack is on tract for the same. Henry owns some Johnson and Johnson and some Disney stock, I hope it goes up.

We got our Christmas Tree today. I think its a bit early but we were coming through Granville on our way back from the Polar Express and it was convenient. More on all this later but I wanted to post this great photo of the boys with Santa taken at the tree place. It is in the running for our Christmas card photo this year.
